Infrastructure developments announced in Angola, Portugal, and Mozambique

Several African nations are advancing major infrastructure projects. In Angola, President João Lourenço is inaugurating the Calucuve and Ndúe dams in Cunene province to combat severe drought. These projects, part of the Program to Combat the Effects of Drought in Southern Angola (PCESSA), aim to provide water for drinking, agriculture, and livestock, benefiting tens of thousands of residents and mitigating migration driven by water scarcity.

Additionally, the Angolan government has authorized a 39.89 billion kwanza urban concession for the Chicala area in Luanda. The ten-year project, managed by Lvndo Empreendimentos, S.A., focuses on urban reorganization, infrastructure management, and improved mobility.

In Portugal, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) has announced an investment of 700 million euros in the Alentejo region through 2028. The funds will be allocated to road and rail improvements across the Beja, Évora, and Portalegre districts. Meanwhile, Mozambique's National Road Administration (ANE) plans to select a concessionaire by 2027 for nearly 200 kilometers of national roads (N2, N3, and N4) in Maputo province to ensure a smooth transition of management by 2028.
