Lublin launches centralized Benefits Department for residents

From 1 June 2024 the City of Lublin will operate a new Department of Benefits (Wydział Świadczeń) at 88‑92 Zemborzycka Street. The unit consolidates functions previously split between the Municipal Family Assistance Centre and the city office, providing a one‑stop desk for all resident benefit matters. Services include family allowances, caregiver subsidies, alimony support, heating vouchers, housing and energy supplements, and rent subsidies under the “Mieszkanie na Start” programme. Starting 1 September the department will also process school scholarships and student allowances.

Deputy mayor for social affairs Anna Augustyniak said the city “concentrated all actions related to granting benefits in one place”. The office will be open Monday 7:45‑16:45 and Tuesday‑Friday 7:45‑15:15. Eligibility for the rent‑subsidy scheme requires household income not to exceed the national average salary (currently 8 903.56 zł for single‑person households, with a 40 % increase per additional person).
