Lublin to host conference on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

The city of Lublin and the Regional Social Policy Center are organizing a free conference titled ‘FAS bez tajemnic’ (FAS without secrets) on September 9 at the Victoria Hotel. The event focuses on educating the public and professionals—including psychologists, educators, and social workers—about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).

Experts will present current knowledge regarding the impact of alcohol on fetal development and discuss the challenges of working with affected children. The conference aims to emphasize that there is no safe dose of alcohol during pregnancy, as any amount can cross the placenta and damage a developing brain. Due to limited capacity, prior telephone registration is required.
