Lucas Museum grants free admission to South Los Angeles residents

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, slated to open on Sept. 22 in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, will issue free‑admission passes to anyone living in the surrounding 90037 ZIP code. Pass holders can reserve entry for themselves and one guest, with a dedicated ticket allotment set aside for the museum’s opening and future days. Registration for the program is expected to begin in August via the museum’s website.

A community preview day is scheduled for Sept. 13, allowing local residents, community groups, business owners and civic leaders to tour the 300,000‑square‑foot facility before it opens to the public. The museum, co‑founded by filmmaker George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, will showcase more than 1,200 works spanning prehistoric art to modern film and comic storytelling.
