Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens new mural gallery

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles has opened a dedicated fifth-floor mural gallery. This unconventional space features works by prominent artists, including street artist Banksy and Judy Baca.

The gallery also includes a large reproduction of Diego Rivera’s 1933 mural originally intended for Rockefeller Center. The museum’s organization is based on narrative themes rather than traditional art categories, with exhibits spanning comics, jazz-related art, and political works.

Chief Executive Tracey Bates noted the inclusion of Banksy’s work, describing the artist as an ‘incredible living artist of our time’ despite his elusive nature. The museum features a library and various themed levels designed to engage visitors with the concept of storytelling through art.
