Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens in Los Angeles

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is officially opening its doors in Los Angeles. The billion-dollar project, a passion endeavor by filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, co-CEO Mellody Hobson, features a neo-futuristic building designed by architect Ma Yansong that resembles a spacecraft.

The museum spans approximately 300,000 square feet and includes over 30 galleries. While the inaugural exhibition, ‘Star Wars in Motion,’ showcases iconic vehicles like the Landspeeder and Podracer, the collection aims to explore the broader history of narrative art, ranging from cave paintings and comics to works by artists such as Norman Rockwell and Frida Kahlo.

To complement the museum experience, the Skywalker Grill will serve as a new dining destination. Rhubarb Hospitality has appointed Diego Cardoso to oversee the restaurant's operations, aiming to match the biomorphic energy of the museum's architecture.
