Lucca Comics & Games 2026 guest updates: Tōru Fujisawa cancels, Yuu Watase confirmed

Updates regarding guest appearances for the 60th edition of Lucca Comics & Games in 2026 have been announced.

Manga artist Tōru Fujisawa, known for series such as ‘G.T.O. – Great Teacher Onizuka’, has canceled his planned participation. Fujisawa cited health concerns that make long-distance travel and intercontinental flights difficult. He expressed deep regret over missing the milestone anniversary and expressed hope to meet the Italian public on another occasion.

In contrast, Star Comics has confirmed that manga artist Yuu Watase will attend the event as a guest of honor from October 30 to November 1, 2026. Her appearance coincides with the launch of a new 2-in-1 edition of ‘Ayashi no Ceres’ and provides an opportunity for fans to meet the creator of ‘Fushigi Yuugi’.
