Lucera and Jesi sign cultural cooperation agreement

The cities of Lucera and Jesi have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen institutional and cultural cooperation. This agreement builds upon a twinning pact originally established in 1970.

The collaboration is centered on their shared connection to Emperor Frederick II of Swabia. Jesi is the birthplace of the Emperor, while Lucera served as a significant site for his imperial policies, acting as a center for cultural and religious coexistence.

A key component of the initiative is the development of the “Stupor Mundi” Museum Hub. This project involves the restoration and repurposing of the Palatium, which will include museum spaces, a media library, a conference hall, and outdoor event areas. A participatory design phase involving various institutions and professionals is scheduled to begin in September.
