Lucid rolls out Air UX 3.0 software update for Lucid Air

Lucid has begun rolling out Air UX 3.0, a major multimedia system update for the Lucid Air electric sedan. Part of software version 2.11.0, the update introduces a redesigned home screen, improved navigation, enhanced user profiles, and expanded support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new interface utilizes design elements previously seen in the Lucid Gravity model, featuring sliding cards for quicker access to frequently used functions and a ‘Quick Controls’ panel.

While the update is delivered via an over-the-air (OTA) wireless transmission, access is not universal for all existing owners. Vehicles from model year 2025 and newer receive the update for free. However, owners of 2022, 2023, and certain early 2024 models require a hardware upgrade to run the new software. In the United States, this infotainment processor replacement costs $950, including installation. Lucid confirmed that older models will continue to receive bug fixes and security updates even without the hardware upgrade.
