Getafe manager and president clash after Conference League loss

Getafe manager José Bordalás and club president Ángel Torres have engaged in a public dispute following the team's 5-2 defeat against FC Lugano in the UEFA Conference League.

Bordalás expressed intense anger and stated he feels ‘deceived’ by the club, alleging that promises regarding squad depth and recruitment have not been kept. He argued that the current roster is insufficient to compete across three different competitions, noting that the loss to the Swiss side—whom he compared to a Spanish second-division team—demonstrated the squad's fragility.

President Torres responded sharply to the accusations, questioning why Bordalás remains at the club if he is so dissatisfied. Torres dismissed the claims of deception, stating that the manager needs to respect the players and that no immediate drastic measures or dismissals are planned. He noted that while the situation is difficult, the focus must remain on upcoming matches.
