Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos has officially sworn in Luis Aguirre as the new Secretary of State Public Security (SSPE). Aguirre succeeds Gilberto Loya Chávez, who transitioned to serve as the acting head of the State Attorney General's Office (FGE).
Aguirre brings extensive experience in criminology and law, having previously served as the Subsecretary of the State Staff for the SSPE since 2022. His career includes roles such as Director General of Police in Ciudad Juárez and a founding member of the State Attorney General's Special Reaction Group. He is noted for his work in establishing the SWAT Special Force and the Special Detectives Group.
The appointment is part of a broader reorganization by the state government aimed at maintaining security strategy continuity and strengthening operational capacities across Chihuahua's municipalities.
