Argentina economic officials meet with IMF and U.S. Treasury at G20

During the G20 meetings in the United States, Argentine Economy Minister Luis Caputo engaged in high-level discussions to bolster international support for the administration's economic program. Caputo met with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, who praised Argentina's economic recovery as the result of "good policies and solid implementation."

Caputo also held meetings with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Bessent described Argentina as leading a "historic opportunity in the Western Hemisphere" and expressed support for the country's economic adjustment plan. These discussions focused on macroeconomic stability, fiscal balance, and attracting private investment.

Separately, President Javier Milei announced a national broadcast scheduled for Thursday to address the sovereignty dispute over the Falkland Islands (Malvinas). This decision follows comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who indicated that his administration might review its historical position on the conflict. Milei described the cause as "the most important and sacred" for Argentines.
