Lula defends Brazilian sovereignty and autonomy

In a national address marking Brazil's Independence Day, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasized the importance of defending national sovereignty, democracy, and social justice. He asserted that Brazil must maintain its autonomy and refuse to become a colony of foreign powers.

Lula highlighted the strategic importance of Brazil's natural resources, including freshwater reserves, oil, and rare earth elements. He argued that these resources should be utilized to drive domestic technological development and create high-quality jobs.

The President also defined sovereignty through the lens of social rights, stating that a truly sovereign nation provides its citizens with financial independence, access to quality public health, free education, and the eradication of hunger and poverty.
