Hanau to host LUMAGICA light art event at Schloss Philippsruhe

Hanau will host a new large-scale light art event, LUMAGICA, at the Schloss Philippsruhe castle park. Running from October 30, 2026, to January 24, 2027, the attraction is designed to draw visitors from the Rhine-Main region and beyond.

The installation features a 1.5-hour circular path containing over 300 light figures and approximately 15 kilometers of light chains, utilizing more than 780,000 individual light points. Themed areas include illuminated gardens, a bird-themed section, and a fantasy world with interactive stations where visitors can influence the installations through movement or touch.

The experience is intended to be intergenerational and will be accompanied by musical scores designed to evoke the atmosphere of historical balls held at the castle.
