Lumajang landslide kills father and daughter

A landslide in Tamanayu Village, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency, East Java, has killed a 40-year-old man, Imron Rosadi, and his 9-year-old daughter, Hilya. The incident occurred after heavy rainfall hit the region from Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning.

According to Isnugroho, the head of the Lumajang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the landslide struck the victims' home around 02:10 WIB. Local residents were initially unable to reach the site to provide assistance due to heavy rain, thick fog, and power outages.

Once the rain subsided around 04:30 WIB, residents inspected the area and discovered the victims buried under landslide debris. Security forces and village officials, assisted by local residents, worked to clear the material and evacuate the victims. The bodies were moved to the family home in Manggisan Hamlet for burial.
