Israel election: Officials deny Arab party fraud allegations

Following the recent Israeli parliamentary elections, the head of the Central Election Commission, Dean Livne, stated there is no evidence that Arab parties engaged in illegal voting or stole the election. This comes after the Likud party, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, accused Arab political groups of using fraudulent methods to boost voter turnout.

While the Likud party alleged instances of bribery, intimidation, and the use of illegal software, high-ranking police officials described these claims as propaganda tactics lacking factual basis. Police Commissioner Daniel Levi noted that while there have been fewer complaints compared to previous elections, all specific reports of irregularities will be investigated independently.

Arab parties achieved a significant presence in the Knesset, securing 19 seats. This result follows a period of high voter participation among Arab-Israeli citizens. President Isaac Herzog called for a thorough investigation into the allegations but cautioned against stigmatizing the entire Arab community.

In response to the accusations, Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Raam party, denied any involvement in foreign interference or wrongdoing, stating his party is ready to cooperate with law enforcement.
