Luxury car price disparities spark debate in Iran
Significant price discrepancies have emerged in the Iranian luxury vehicle market. A 2026 Range Rover Vogue was recently advertised for 400 billion tomans, despite global market values estimated between 174,000 and 240,000 USD (approximately 47 to 65 billion tomans). This represents a markup of six to eight times the international price.
Analysis of over 30 luxury models indicates that domestic prices in Iran are frequently three to four times higher than global and regional averages. While legal import costs contribute to this gap, the extreme pricing of luxury goods highlights a widening social and economic divide within the country.
In the imported SUV segment, the Renault Grand Koleos—a model produced in South Korea through a partnership between Renault and Geely—has entered the Iranian market. The vehicle is being offered at approximately 14.9 billion tomans, with a free-market valuation of around 16.8 billion tomans.
