LVMH completes sale of Marc Jacobs to WHP Global and G-III
LVMH has finalized the sale of the Marc Jacobs brand to a joint venture formed by WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group. The total transaction is valued at approximately $850 million to $925 million, with each acquiring partner contributing roughly $425 million for equal 50% ownership.
Under the terms of the agreement, WHP Global will lead the joint venture and manage global brand licensing. G-III Apparel Group will oversee operational activities, including wholesale, retail, and e-commerce, managing the brand's global direct-to-consumer presence and approximately 100 stores.
Marc Jacobs will remain the Creative Director of the brand he founded in 1984, ensuring continuity in creative vision and collections. LVMH had held a majority stake in the label since 1997.
