Maaslijn railway closed for nine days for modernization

The Maaslijn railway line between Roermond and Venlo will be out of service for nine days, from Saturday, September 12, to Sunday, September 20, due to extensive modernization and electrification work.

Key activities include installing foundations for future overhead lines and implementing vibration-reducing under sleeper pads in Venlo and Swalmen. Work will also involve track adjustments at Tegelen station and repairs to level crossings. During this period, replacement buses will operate between Venlo, Tegelen, Reuver, Swalmen, and Roermond.

These efforts are part of a larger project to modernize the rail connection between Nijmegen and Roermond, which includes providing the line with overhead power lines.
