Macedonia police detain five suspects in 24‑hour domestic‑violence crackdown

Over a 24‑hour period, police in several Macedonian towns arrested five men accused of domestic violence and threats. The arrests were made in Strumica, Kichevo (village Zaјas), Veles, Tetovo and Kriva Palanka following complaints from partners, family members and victims. The Ministry of Interior reported that the detainees faced charges of physical assault, psychological abuse and intimidation, and that the Public Prosecutor and local social‑work centers were notified.

Authorities said the cases are being fully documented and appropriate legal actions will be pursued against the alleged perpetrators. The series of arrests illustrates ongoing police efforts to address family‑related violence across the country.
