Macedonia police detain six people after 12 family‑violence reports in 24 hours
Over the past 24 hours the Macedonian Ministry of Internal Affairs logged 12 family‑violence complaints across several municipalities, including Štip, Skopje, Gostivar, Ohrid, Debar and others. Police detained six individuals and conducted official conversations with additional suspects.
Incidents leading to detention included a 38‑year‑old man in Štip arrested for breaching a court order and assaulting his wife, a 55‑year‑old man in Skopje detained after his son reported threats with a hard object, a 40‑year‑old man in Skopje arrested following parents’ complaint, a 46‑year‑old man in Ohrid detained after his wife’s complaint with firearms, ammunition and a pistol seized, a 45‑year‑old man in Debar arrested after his wife reported physical abuse, and a 31‑year‑old man in Gostivar detained after his wife alleged assault.
Other cases involved official interviews rather than detention, such as an 18‑year‑old in Saraj and a 35‑year‑old in Gostivar. Authorities said investigations are ongoing and formal charges will be filed after documentation is completed.
