Macedonia police log six domestic‑violence incidents in a single night

The Macedonian Ministry of Interior reported six domestic‑violence cases recorded over the past 24 hours, with one suspect placed in custody. In Tetovo, police detained 37‑year‑old B.A. after his former partner alleged continued stalking, telephone harassment and threats following their breakup.

In Skopje, a 28‑year‑old woman said her 56‑year‑old mother‑in‑law physically assaulted her, causing severe injuries treated at a local hospital. Police also investigated an assault on a 16‑year‑old girl in the Bit Pazar neighbourhood, who had endured physical and psychological abuse by members of her family.

Additional reports included an aunt attempting to force entry into her nephew’s apartment, a 34‑year‑old woman attacked by her husband in a village near Skopje, and a 71‑year‑old man assaulted by his grandson over unresolved property disputes. Authorities said they are taking measures to fully investigate each case and will file appropriate charges against the perpetrators.
