Macedonia police record 11 family‑violence incidents in one day, arrest seven
The Ministry of Interior in North Macedonia reported that police intervened in 11 domestic‑violence cases across the country in a single day, leading to the arrest of seven individuals. Serious incidents included an attempted arson of a family home in Tetovo, a drunken driver smashing a house door with a car in Gostivar, and multiple assaults with wooden objects in towns such as Kërçovë and Manastir.
In a separate case in the Aerodrom municipality of Skopje, a 12‑year‑old girl was attacked in a park on 30 June. Police said the girl was first forced by a 14‑year‑old, then assaulted by another minor. Both minors were questioned at a police station in the presence of their parents, and criminal charges are expected to follow.
The authorities indicated that full investigations are underway and that appropriate charges will be filed against all suspects involved.
