Macedonia registers five family‑violence reports in one night, three arrests

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported five separate family‑violence incidents recorded over a single night across Macedonia. In Skopje, a 33‑year‑old woman said her 39‑year‑old husband assaulted her around 21:00, and a 43‑year‑old woman reported that her estranged husband violently attacked her and their minor daughter earlier that afternoon.

Police in Skopje also detained a 50‑year‑old man after his 46‑year‑old wife alleged he physically assaulted her at home. In Negotino, an 18‑year‑old was taken into custody following a complaint from his 36‑year‑old mother that he had physically assaulted and threatened her and his younger brother. In Vinica, a 37‑year‑old man was arrested after his mother reported that he and his mother had beaten his 22‑year‑old wife.

All cases have been referred to the public prosecutor and the relevant social‑work centers for further action.
