Macedonia prosecutes men for domestic violence threats in Skopje, Tetovo

In Skopje, a 30‑year‑old man was charged with threatening his former employers with a knife after they left his workplace without paying his wages. He brandished the knife, cut the car’s left rear tire and was accused of endangering safety with a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors have sought precautionary measures including a residence‑leave ban, temporary suspension of his driver’s licence and a prohibition on contacting the victims.

In Tetovo, two separate domestic‑violence cases were brought before the public prosecutor. A 50‑year‑old man, after assaulting his wife, threatened to kill her, pursued her to her workplace and to her parents’ home, and was charged with intimidation and security threats. In a related incident, a 32‑year‑old man assaulted his father, again threatening lethal violence. For both defendants, prosecutors have requested similar precautionary orders restricting movement, imposing reporting obligations and banning contact with the victims.
