Macedonia records eight family‑violence incidents, detains seven suspects

The Ministry of Interior said eight cases of domestic violence were reported in the past 24 hours, leading to the detention of seven individuals and an official interview with one minor.

arrests included a 46‑year‑old man in Struga accused of assaulting his mother, a 47‑year‑old man in Skopje accused of striking his partner, and a 17‑year‑old in Veles questioned after allegations of attacking his 82‑year‑old grandmother. Two men aged 49 and 70 were detained in Veles for threatening family members. A 29‑year‑old man in Strumica was arrested for repeated aggression toward his wife and threats to her parents. In Tetovo, a 16‑year‑old was taken into custody after reportedly threatening his parents and sister with a knife. A 52‑year‑old man in Štip was detained on suspicion of assaulting his spouse. All cases have been forwarded to public prosecutors for further action.
