Macedonia reports six family‑violence incidents with arrests in multiple cities

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia recorded six cases of domestic violence over a 24‑hour period on 11‑12 June 2026. Incidents were reported in the cities of Strumicë, Gostivar, Manastir, Veles, Kumanovë and Skopje. Police detained or arrested the alleged perpetrators: a 59‑year‑old woman in Strumicë, a 53‑year‑old man in Gostivar, a 35‑year‑old man in Manastir, a 28‑year‑old man in Veles, a 39‑year‑old man in Kumanovë, and a 41‑year‑old woman in Skopje who reported being assaulted by her husband. The suspects were taken to local police stations, and public prosecutors were notified for each case. Authorities indicated that full investigations are underway and that criminal charges will be filed based on the documented evidence.
