Macedonia sees up to four‑hour queues at Bogorodica and Evzoni border crossings

As the summer tourist season began, vehicle traffic surged at the Macedonian‑Greek border points of Bogorodica and Evzoni. Thousands of motorists – cars, buses, campers and motorcycles – formed kilometer‑long queues, and many drivers reported waiting up to four hours for passport control to enter Macedonia.

Authorities urged travelers to check crossing conditions, consider alternative routes, and travel late in the evening when temperatures are lower and congestion may ease. While entry into Macedonia faced severe delays, traffic exiting Macedonia for Greece remained relatively smooth. Continued high demand from returning vacationers is expected to keep the borders busy throughout the day.
