Macedonian literature expands international presence at Frankfurt Book Fair and in Sofia
Macedonian literature is expanding its international presence through key cultural events. The Macedonian Association of Publishers (MAI) will participate in the Frankfurt Book Fair from October 7 to 11. The national stand will feature an updated selection of books and authors, utilizing the ‘Read in 7/8’ communication concept. A primary focus will be on contemporary literature, children's books, and promoting financial support for translations and foreign editions, including a contest from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Additionally, the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia participated in the 15th European Night of Literature. Representing Macedonia alongside various European nations, the center hosted a ‘reading nest’ at the Pave club. The event featured excerpts from the novel ‘Snow in Casablanca’ by Kica Kolbe, aimed at strengthening cultural ties and bringing contemporary literature closer to the public.
