Macedonian PM Mikoski announces rapid progress on Ohrid‑Kichevo highway
Prime Minister Christian Mikoski announced via social media that construction of the Ohrid–Kichevo highway is advancing at a fast pace and has entered its final phase. He said the government is overcoming the major challenges inherited from earlier stages, particularly the galleries and slopes that cross the mountainous terrain.
Mikoski noted that the first of the 14 planned galleries has been fully completed and paved, and that work on the tunnels is intensifying. To date, 34 km of the highway are already in operation, meeting the highest safety and quality standards and serving a large number of daily users. He emphasized that the project will connect citizens, boost the economy, and promote tourism and broader development in the country.
