Macedonian Railways Suspends Several Routes for City‑Train Project
Macedonian Railways – Infrastructure announced that, as part of the final construction works for the "City Train" project, passenger services on the Skopje‑Veles line between Skopje and the station of Zelenikovo will be temporarily halted. The suspension runs from 22 June 2026 until 1 July 2026.
The interruption affects multiple scheduled trains: Skopje‑Gevgelija (trains 611 and 631), Gevgelija‑Skopje (630 and 632), Skopje‑Bitola (641 and 645), Bitola‑Skopje (640 and 644), Bitola‑Veles (642), Veles‑Bitola (643), Skopje‑Veles (2083) and Veles‑Skopje (600). Passengers are urged to check the temporary timetable and plan journeys accordingly, as the service reduction will impact hundreds of commuters traveling to the three key destinations of Gevgelija, Bitola and Veles.
