Macedonian sports: Volleyball achievements and kickboxing world championships
Macedonian volleyball coach Josko Milenkoski has described the national team's performance at the 2026 European Championship as an “objective achievement.” Competing in Group B in Sofia, the team secured one victory against Israel and suffered four losses against Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine, and Portugal. Milenkoski noted that the group was exceptionally difficult, containing three major favorites, and suggested that Macedonia's likely 20th-place finish is comparable to results achieved by nations like the Netherlands and Sweden.
In kickboxing, 18 Macedonian athletes are competing in the WAKO World Junior Championship in Lido di Jesolo, Italy. The event features a record 3,000 competitors from 78 countries. Several Macedonian fighters have advanced through the tournament brackets, with some positioned close to securing medals in various disciplines including Low Kick, Kick Light, and K-1.
