Macedonia's Customs Administration records 22.5% revenue surge in June

In June 2024 the Customs Administration of North Macedonia collected 12.68 billion denars, equivalent to about €206 million, marking a 22.5% increase over June 2023 and surpassing the previous monthly record set in July 2023. Director Boban Nikoloski said the rise was observed across almost all revenue streams, with VAT on imports up 26.2%, vehicle tax up 24.4%, customs duties up 19.5% and excise taxes up 15%. He described the continuous record‑breaking as evidence of improved efficiency, successful reforms and stronger controls within the agency.
