Macedonia's Interior Minister Panche Toskovski Reports Fivefold Rise in Rapid-Case Family Violence Resolutions

Interior Minister Panche Toskovski visited the Family Violence Unit of the Skopje Police Department to review its work and recent performance. He highlighted that, between 2022 and 2026, a total of 1,275 family‑violence reports were recorded in the Skopje area, with 187 cases registered so far in 2026.

Under the ministry’s fast‑track procedure, the number of processed cases increased dramatically: 10 cases in 2022, 18 in 2023, 25 in 2024, 34 in 2025 and 52 to date in 2026. Correspondingly, precautionary measures rose from four in 2022 to 23 in 2026 – a more than five‑fold improvement over the 2022 baseline. Toskovski said the priority remains swift protection for every victim and decisive action against perpetrators.
