Deputy PM Nikoloski announces new Prilep‑Bitola railway service and Mogila infrastructure projects
Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski told reporters during a visit to the Mogila municipality that a regional passenger train between Prilep and Bitola will begin operating at the end of June or early July. The service will run at times convenient for commuters and tickets will be set at a symbolic price of 150 denars. A cargo (freight) service is also expected to start shortly, aiming to lower road traffic, reduce pollution and revive the railway line while a new highway segment is under construction.
In the same visit, Nikoloski highlighted a €700 000 investment cycle for Mogila, funded by municipal, state and World Bank resources. Projects include the construction and renovation of streets (Gotse Delchev, Pelagonia, ASCOM), new water‑supply and sewage networks, a sports complex and a football playground donated by the Macedonian Football Federation. He said the initiatives will improve living conditions and stimulate economic development in the Pelagonia region.
