Maceió police arrest coordinator of R$ 70 million drug scheme

Police in Maceió have arrested Laércio Isidoro do Nascimento Júnior, who is identified as a key coordinator in a drug supply scheme for the Comando Vermelho (CV) criminal faction. The operation uncovered a financial movement of approximately R$ 70 million.

Investigations, triggered by a seized mobile phone and a payment list found in prison, reveal that Nascimento Júnior maintained direct ties with CV leaders in Rio de Janeiro and had links to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The scheme involved providing large quantities of narcotics on credit, allowing traffickers to receive shipments and pay in installments.

Evidence includes audio recordings where Nascimento Júnior discussed debt collection with high-ranking members, including My Thor, a criminal currently held in a federal prison. The investigation also suggests the scheme aimed to expand illegal market operations and maintain the faction's hierarchical structure.
