Ceilurb corruption investigation in Maceió

Overview

In Maceió, two employees of Ceilurb, a public lighting services contractor, were detained after being found with approximately R$ 2 million in cash. The suspects, identified as manager Maurício Leite Tenório Costa and assistant Leopoldo Del Rosário Toro Ramires Júnior, were intercepted in the Farol neighborhood following intelligence from Sergipe security forces.

The individuals claimed the cash withdrawal was performed under orders from the company’s owner. The Directorate of Repression of Corruption and Organized Crime (Dracco) is investigating the origin and destination of the funds, noting that the case involves the financial relationship between the Maceió City Hall and Ceilurb.
