Macerata businesses face generational turnover crisis
The Macerata region faces a significant challenge regarding generational turnover in its business sector. Data from Cna indicates that nearly one in six entrepreneurs is over 70 years old, a trend compounded by a declining young population that serves as the primary resource for succession.
The Partito Democratico (PD) has called for urgent reflection and the creation of tools involving universities and business associations to facilitate young people entering companies. They warn that the loss of aging entrepreneurs without successors leads to the disappearance of jobs, skills, and local wealth.
In response to these structural issues, Massimiliano Balducci, CEO of CBF Balducci Group and president of Confindustria Giovani Macerata, is advocating for the establishment of a permanent committee or an observatory on generational turnover. Having already completed the succession process at his own company, Balducci emphasizes that successful transition requires transferring values and culture alongside responsibilities to ensure long-term continuity.
