Macerata health agency cuts night‑shift doctors at Recanati, Tolentino primary care centers

The regional health authority (AST) in Macerata has advanced a plan to remove internal doctors from the night shift at the Points of Primary Intervention (PPI) in Recanati and Tolentino. The restructuring will affect the delivery of emergency and primary care services in those towns.

At the same time, Dr. Patrizia Caciorgna will retire from her role in San Severino, leaving 1,600 patients without a regular doctor and highlighting a broader shortage of primary‑care physicians in the area. The authority is also attempting to hire 43 nurses for various facilities, but the recruitment process has encountered multiple setbacks, leaving several positions still unfilled.
