Macron introduces electric DS No7 Elysee as new French presidential car for Bastille Day

On July 14, 2026, French President Emmanuel Macron unveiled a bespoke electric DS No7, named “Elysee,” as the latest vehicle in the presidential fleet for the Bastille Day parade in Paris.

The armoured car is a heavily modified version of Stellantis' DS No7 SUV, featuring an extended wheelbase, hydro‑pneumatic suspension, and a fully electric powertrain with a 97.2 kWh battery produced in Hauts‑de‑France and twin motors built in the Grand‑Est region. Security equipment, adjustable tinted rear windows, and a mobile‑office interior with French‑themed finishes were added.

The vehicle showcases French industrial capability: the battery, suspension, and audio systems were developed in various French regions, and the car will later be sold to the public as a standard DS No7. It replaces the previous hybrid DS 7 Crossback and follows earlier introductions of a DS No8 and a Renault Rafale in prior national ceremonies.
