Madeira entrepreneurship program supports 625 companies and 1,036 jobs
The Company and Employment Creation Program (CRIEE), managed by the Madeira Employment Institute (IEM), has supported the establishment of 625 companies and the creation of 1,036 jobs. This initiative represents a cumulative public investment exceeding 11.7 million euros.
During the opening of the first Madeira Entrepreneurship Fair in Funchal, officials reported that in the first nine months of this year alone, the program approved 33 business projects. These projects involve over 1.1 million euros in financial support and are expected to create 47 direct jobs. Supported sectors include tourism, catering, IT consultancy, and digital solutions.
Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labor, and Youth, Paula Margarido, emphasized that public support should extend beyond financial incentives to include entrepreneur preparation and business development monitoring. Additionally, Secretary of State Adriano Rafael Moreira noted the program's potential as a model for other regions, highlighting opportunities in artificial intelligence and specific sectors of the Madeiran economy.
