Madeira reaffirms humanitarian support for Venezuela

Madeiran deputy Paulo Neves has reaffirmed that the region will continue to support Venezuela following the earthquakes that struck the country in late August. During an initiative in Funchal, Neves emphasized that the assistance provided by Madeira has been “very strong and solid” and has reached those in greatest need.

Key aid measures include over 150,000 euros provided by the Madeira Regional Government, along with the deployment of technical teams to assist in search and rescue operations. Neves also highlighted the support for the Madeiran community residing in Venezuela, noting that the PSD/M Emigrants Nucleus has been mobilized to provide necessary assistance.

On a national level, Neves noted that deputies from the PSD/M in the Assembly of the Republic successfully placed the situation on the parliamentary agenda, facilitating the deployment of more than 60 civil protection personnel to Venezuela.
