Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav rolls out pilgrim support infrastructure for Kanwar Yatra and Simhastha 2028

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed state officials to provide food and prasadi at intervals of 15–20 kilometres along the Kanwar Yatra routes during the holy month of Shravan. He also ordered the establishment of pilgrim facilitation centres with participation from religious organisations and the public, and called for wayside amenity centres on highways to include hospitals, trauma units, petrol pumps and EV‑charging stations.

In a separate move, Yadav announced new stoppages for two trains at the newly built Nishatpura Railway Station in Bhopal to improve rail connectivity ahead of the Simhastha 2028 religious gathering, which is expected to draw around 400 million pilgrims. The station, built at a cost of ₹14 crore, will serve the Dr Ambedkar Nagar‑Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express and the Veraval‑Jabalpur Express, reducing travel times and easing crowding. The Chief Minister highlighted a substantial increase in the rail‑budget allocation for Madhya Pradesh, supporting infrastructure upgrades needed for the large‑scale event.
