Madhya Pradesh Government Transfers 20 IAS Officers and Appoints New Chief Secretary
The Madhya Pradesh state government carried out a major administrative reshuffle on July 25, 2024, shortly after appointing Ashok Barnwal as chief secretary. Twenty Indian Administrative Service officers were transferred to new postings, and six district collectors were reassigned in Ratlam, Anuppur, Shahdol, Khargone, Mandsaur and Agar Malwa.
Key appointments include K.C. Gupta taking on the roles of Agriculture Production Commissioner and additional responsibilities in cottage and forest industries; Sachin Sinha becoming Additional Chief Secretary for Public Health Engineering; Raghavendra Kumar Singh moving from the industrial policy and MSME portfolio to head the Forest Department; Sandip Yadav shifting to Water Resources; John Kingsley receiving the industrial policy and MSME brief; Dr Sudam Pandharinath Khade appointed as secretary to the chief minister; and Baskar Lakshkar transferred to the Indore division. Additionally, Nirej Mandaloi, the senior principal secretary, was given charge of organizing the Global Investment Summit 2027.
The reshuffle is presented as an effort to improve the implementation of state schemes and enhance administrative coordination across departments.
