Madhya Pradesh Heavy Rain Alert Issued for August 4‑5
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heavy‑rain alert for several districts in Madhya Pradesh on August 4 and 5, 2026. The alert covers Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Mahuar, Seedi, Umaria, Shahdol and Anuppur on the 4th, and extends to Niwari, Tikamgarh, Rewa and Mauganj on the 5th. Forecasts call for intense rainfall that could cause water‑logging and localized flooding, especially in low‑lying areas.
Authorities advised residents to stay alert near rivers and flood‑prone zones, and urged farmers to clear water from fields and avoid pesticide spraying during the downpour. The alert is part of a broader IMD warning that also includes heavy rain expectations for parts of Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other regions across northern and central India.
The department highlighted that a low‑pressure system over Rajasthan and an active monsoon trough are driving the renewed rain activity in the state.
