Madhya Pradesh High Court issues notice to Congress MLA Ghanshyam Singh

The Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to Congress MLA Ghanshyam Singh following a petition seeking to nullify his election. The petition alleges that Singh concealed information regarding criminal cases, including a case dating back to 1991, in his election affidavits.

According to the petitioners' counsel, Manoj Upadhyay, Singh failed to disclose any of his four pending criminal cases during the 2023 elections for the Sevdha assembly constituency. Furthermore, it is alleged that during the 2026 by-election for Datia, Singh only disclosed two of the four pending cases, intentionally omitting the remaining two.

The petition, filed by Deepak Belpatri and Vinod Sharma of Datia, was originally submitted to the Jabalpur High Court before being transferred to the Gwalior bench. The petitioners are requesting the court to cancel Singh's election if the allegations of concealing criminal history are proven true.
