Madhya Pradesh monsoon system triggers heavy rain alerts
A strong monsoon system is activating in the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, prompting weather authorities to issue a heavy rain alert for the Jabalpur, Rewa, and Shahdol divisions for the next three days.
Meteorologists indicate that a low-pressure area and an active monsoon trough are driving the weather patterns. While western and central districts like Bhopal, Raisen, and Sehore may experience varying levels of rainfall, the eastern regions are expected to see significant precipitation, which may help alleviate recent rainfall deficits in those areas.
Recent data shows heavy rainfall in several districts, with Khargone recording 8.1 inches and Khandwa recording 5.5 inches. Despite these recent downpours, 43 districts in the state have still recorded below-average rainfall, particularly in the Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar, and Shahdol divisions.
