Madhya Pradesh STF uncovers major fake passport network
The Special Task Force (STF) in Madhya Pradesh has uncovered a major fraudulent network involved in creating fake passports using forged documents. Investigations revealed that 17 fake passports were issued using a single address in a colony in Dabra. Additionally, 40 fraudulent passports were identified at a Buddhist monastery in the Anna Nagar area of Bhopal, bringing the total number of detected fake passports to 70.
The network reportedly operated by first creating forged identities through fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and birth certificates, which were then used to pass police verification processes. Evidence suggests that individuals using these passports traveled to several countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, China, Sri Lanka, and Japan. The STF has arrested two suspects, identified as Priyan Roy and Joy Chaudhary, who were apprehended in Maharashtra. Authorities are currently investigating whether the network has broader international connections.
