Madhya Pradesh weather alert for rain and thunderstorms

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for several districts in Madhya Pradesh, predicting thunderstorms and rain due to an active western disturbance and cyclonic circulation in the northern part of the state.

Rain is expected in the Gwalior, Chambal, and Sagar divisions. Specific districts under alert include Gwalior, Sheopur, Bhind, Morena, and Shivpuri. Forecasts suggest continued precipitation through October 19 in areas such as Datia, Guna, Ashoknagar, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, and Panna.

In addition to the rain, a drop in nighttime temperatures is signaling an increase in cold weather. Temperatures have already fallen below 18 degrees Celsius in several cities, including Bhopal, Indore, and Shajapur, with Amarkantak recording a minimum of 15.8 degrees Celsius. Although the southwest monsoon officially departed the state on October 3, these active weather systems are maintaining rainfall activity.
