Madonna del Carmine celebrations launch across Italian towns in July

A series of traditional religious festivals are taking place in July across several Italian municipalities. In Morano Calabro, the town will host a concert by singer‑songwriter Giuseppe Povia on 16 July, preceded by a civic program that includes a fireworks display and a concert by the local wind orchestra. Alberobello, Riccia, Saviano, Racalmuto and other towns are also organizing novenas, daily Masses, processions and cultural evenings featuring local bands, DJs and guest artists such as Mr Rain.

The events combine liturgical rites – including the recitation of the Rosary, the blessing of scapulars and the celebration of the Madonna del Carmine – with civil entertainment like music, comedy, food stalls and fireworks. Municipal authorities and parish leaders are actively promoting participation by residents and tourists, emphasizing the preservation of historic devotion and community identity.

Similar July festivities are also scheduled for the Assunta patronal feast in Maiori and the patron saint processions in Barletta and Nardò, underscoring the broader pattern of summer religious celebrations that blend worship, local culture and tourism throughout Italy.
